UnitedHealth Group Hosts Roundtable on Opportunities to Fight Obesity in Pennsylvania and Improve Health Outcomes
WHAT: UnitedHealth Group is hosting a roundtable discussion focused on opportunities to improve the health and well-being of people with obesity. The panelists will review significant challenges related to obesity in Pennsylvania today and identify opportunities for improvement. Moderated by Ioannis Pashakis from the Central Penn Business Journal, the roundtable will demonstrate statewide capabilities to support Pennsylvanians’ overall wellness including member-engagement websites, resources and events; care provider tools; and nonprofit community partnerships.
State legislators, administration officials, care providers, advocacy groups and other stakeholders are expected to attend.

WHY: UnitedHealth Group is hosting a roundtable to discuss opportunities to improve the health and well-being of people with obesity in Pennsylvania, and provide insight into efforts to address health disparities affecting obesity, as well as information on data tools and resources.
According to the 2018 Americas Health Rankings Annual Report, Pennsylvania ranks 26th for obesity in the nation and 38th for obesity in adults age 65 and over. Overall, 37 percent of the adult population in the state is reported as obese.
